Lincolnshire Police has reported receiving approximately 100 calls concerning Storm Darragh. The police force urged the public to exercise caution due to numerous roads in the county being obstructed by fallen trees. Authorities confirmed awareness of trees that had fallen in Skellingthorpe, Market Deeping, Holbeach, Old Leake, and Welbourn. The force further stated that Jerusalem Road in Skellingthorpe would stay closed “for some time”. A yellow weather warning for wind issued by the Met Office is still active, set to expire at 06:00 GMT on Sunday. Earlier on Saturday, wind gusts reaching up to 93mph impacted parts of the UK, leading to considerable disruption across south Wales, western England, and Northern Ireland. By 20:45 GMT on Saturday, Storm Darragh had been linked to the deaths of two individuals. West Midlands Police reported that a man passed away in Birmingham’s Erdington area shortly after 15:00 GMT when a tree fell onto his vehicle. Police also confirmed that in Lancashire, a man in his 40s lost his life when a tree struck his Citroen van.
