James Penrice attributes his current success to diligent effort as he aims to assist Hearts in securing a spot in the Conference League knockout stages this evening. The left-back was sidelined for the latter half of the previous season due to an injury while with Livingston before his transfer to Hearts in the summer. He has rapidly established himself as a key member of the squad, with supporters even composing a chant in his honor. Hearts are scheduled to play Cercle Brugge in Belgium, understanding that a victory would guarantee their participation in European football beyond Christmas, a milestone not achieved since the 1988-89 season. “It’s been mental,” Penrice said. “[A year ago] I would never have thought I’d be playing in nights like this. “I’m going to try everything I can to win this football game and I think everyone can see that. “I put a lot of hard work into being where I am and this is me reaping the rewards. “We can definitely qualify for the next stage. That was the aim of coming into this competition.”We should have no fear. Even when coming to these grounds, we’re coming here to get three points.” Sandi Toksvig is joined by Gyles Brandreth, Lulu, Emmanuel Sonubi and Alan Davies Grab the mic for Queen, Taylor Swift, Bon Jovi, Katy Perry and more… Ben Fogle and Kate Humble are back for the festivities at Longleat Safari Park From micro plastics in our air, soil, and waterways, to the extent of food waste at this time of year © 2024 BBC.
