The administrators for Inverness Caledonian Thistle have confirmed the receipt of 20 expressions of interest regarding the acquisition of the League One club. BDO stated that prospective purchasers of the club, which won the Scottish Cup in 2015, will be provided with information detailing the investment prospects in the upcoming days. The firm also extended gratitude to the local community for their backing of the club during its financial difficulties while the sale process continues. Caley Thistle achieved a 1-1 draw against Kelty Hearts on Saturday; however, the team remains at the bottom of the third-tier standings, a position influenced by a 15-point deduction imposed due to the club entering administration on 22 October. The club, established in 1994, was compelled to dismiss manager Duncan Ferguson and release four first-team players late last month as part of a cost-cutting measure. BDO, which previously managed the operations of Heart of Midlothian and Rangers when those clubs also entered administration over a decade ago, is currently overseeing the sale of Inverness Caledonian Thistle. A spokesperson for the firm indicated that while significant interest has been shown, some inquiries have included questions regarding the allocation of any invested funds. The spokesperson further stated: “We have had many inquiries from people wanting to help and support the club financially, ranging from on-site restaurant opportunities to advertising and so on.“Understandably, some have questioned where the funds will go.“I’d like to stress that all funds raised will be used towards the running costs of the club and will not be expended on professional fees or to pay historical creditors.” The identities of prospective buyers have not been revealed. Alan Savage, a businessman and former chairman, has committed to providing funding for the club for the remainder of the current season. Last season, Caley Thistle incurred a loss of £1.2 million, coinciding with their relegation from the Scottish Championship after a two-leg defeat against Hamilton Academical. This occurred just weeks before the nine-year anniversary of their Scottish Cup victory at Hampden against Falkirk on 30 May 2015. The club is anticipated to face a comparable financial loss this year, a projection that does not factor in the costs associated with restructuring subsequent to their relegation from the second tier.
