Farhad Moshiri’s nearly nine-year period as Everton owner has concluded. The British-Iranian businessman initially sparked considerable optimism among the Toffees’ fanbase upon acquiring a 49.6% stake in the club in February 2016; however, his time at the helm did not unfold as anticipated. Following his transition to a majority shareholder at Goodison Park, Everton largely experienced a decline, marked by numerous changes in management, financial difficulties, penalties involving points deductions, and battles against relegation. Moshiri injected approximately £750m into the club, yet this investment yielded minimal or no financial return. Throughout his ownership, Moshiri presided over 11 distinct managerial periods at Goodison Park, commencing with Roberto Martinez and subsequently appointing seven permanent first-team managers in an attempt to reinstate the club’s past success. The initial six of these appointments each lasted an average of only 309 days, measured from their inaugural to their concluding matches, prior to the arrival of current boss Sean Dyche, who is nearing two years in his position.
