The League One club Blackpool has announced that their midfielder, Albie Morgan, has received a diagnosis of type one diabetes. This season, Morgan has scored one goal in eight games for the team. The club further stated that the 24-year-old player learned of his condition following a series of tests conducted recently. Morgan, who has played in eight of his 53 matches for Blackpool this season, is presently focused on “make adaptations to his daily life to be in a position to return to training in the near future.” Morgan commented, ““I’d like to thank everyone at Blackpool Victoria Hospital, the diabetic specialists and the club’s medical staff for all of their support over the past few days and weeks,” “It’s been a really tough few days for me and my family, but I’m pleased to say that I am now comfortable and learning to live with this news.“I am now fully focused on working harder than ever to come back strong and healthy, to be in a position to return to training and represent the club again in the near future.”” Morgan’s most recent appearance was on 22 October, during the team’s 5-1 loss to Peterborough. Blackpool currently holds the 16th position in League One, having secured four victories out of their 13 matches played this season.
