Despite a less than convincing start to the season, Rangers maintain a perfect home record in the league. Their away performances, however, have been notably poor, with the team securing an average of only 0.8 points from five matches played on the road. This striking contrast in performance is particularly evident in the statistics of striker Cyriel Dessers. Out of his total of 20 Premiership goals, 14 were scored at home, encompassing all four goals he has netted in the current campaign. Specifically, 10 of the Nigerian international’s most recent 12 league goals occurred at either Ibrox or Hampden, the latter having served as Rangers’ temporary home ground at the beginning of this season. In their most recent match, Dessers scored an early goal in the 1-0 victory against Hearts. Hearts, based in Edinburgh, challenged Rangers throughout the game, and it’s worth noting that three of Rangers’ six home victories have also been decided by a single goal. Given that Rangers cannot afford to lose further ground, and with Dundee United expected to present a formidable challenge, any victory will be crucial. Dessers is considered the most likely player to score, especially when playing at home. Explore all predictions for the weekend’s Premiership matches.
