An individual has been taken into custody in connection with a hit-and-run incident that occurred in Plymouth city centre. The arrest was made on suspicion of attempted murder and causing serious injury through dangerous driving. The collision, which involved a vehicle and a pedestrian, happened on Southside Street around 14:05 GMT on Thursday. Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed the arrest of a man in his twenties, who is from Tavistock. He is currently being held in police custody. According to the police force, one man sustained serious injuries and was transported to Derriford Hospital. Emergency services, including paramedics and the RNLI, responded to the location, and authorities implemented a road closure. The police force has requested that anyone possessing dash-cam, CCTV, or phone footage related to the incident come forward and contact them.
