Yorkshire Cricket Club has named John Sadler as its new batting coach, effective for the 2025 season. Sadler previously served as head coach for Northamptonshire for three seasons. He departed from his role as Northamptonshire’s head coach, based at Wantage Road, in September. The 42-year-old, a native of Dewsbury, will operate under the guidance of new head coach Anthony McGrath at Headingley. Sadler’s playing career included stints with his home county, Leicestershire, and Derbyshire. Speaking to the club’s website, Sadler stated, “Having come through the Yorkshire Pathways and started my playing career with the White Rose, I know how important cricket is in the county and am excited by the tremendous opportunity ahead of us.” Yorkshire is currently preparing for its return to Division One of the County Championship, marking its first season back after a two-year hiatus.
