Brad Hall and Taylor Lawrence secured Britain’s initial Bobsleigh World Cup podium finish of the season, earning a silver medal in the second of two two-man races held in Sigulda, Latvia. After the first run, Hall, partnered with Greg Cackett, was in second place, 0.05 seconds behind Germany’s experienced Johannes Lochner and his new brakeman Jorn Wenzel. Lawrence then replaced Cackett for the second run, and the British duo executed another strong performance, achieving a combined time of one minute 39.45 seconds. Nonetheless, the Germans responded by finishing 0.21 seconds ahead of the Britons, marking Lochner’s 80th career World Cup podium. The other German pair, Francesco Friedrich and Alexander Schuller, finished in third position. Hall had previously finished fourth with Greg Cackett in Saturday’s initial race.
