Scotland once again experienced disappointment in a play-off, missing out on qualification for the Euro 2025 finals scheduled for next summer, following a loss in Finland amidst cold conditions. The team led by Pedro Martinez Losa, having managed only a 0-0 draw at Easter Road in the initial leg, traveled to Helsinki aiming to qualify for their first major tournament in six years. However, they began the match sluggishly and were quickly penalized. Natalia Kuikka was afforded ample space at the Bolt Arena to unleash a powerful long-distance shot. Subsequently, Nea Lehtola’s strike deflected off Sophie Howard’s face, misleading Eartha Cumings and paving Finland’s path to the finals.
