Bridget Curtis, the driver responsible for the death of an eight-month-old baby after her car struck the infant’s pram, has had her sentencing hearing deferred following a suspected heart attack. Mabli Cariad Hall, from Neath, passed away four days after the incident in June 2023, when Ms. Curtis’s vehicle collided with her pram outside Withybush Hospital in Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire. Ms. Curtis, 70, of Begelly, had previously entered a guilty plea to the charge of causing death by dangerous driving. Her sentencing was scheduled for Friday, but she became unwell on the morning of the proceedings and is currently receiving medical attention at the same hospital where the fatal collision occurred. Rob, Mabli’s father, also sustained injuries in the incident. The family has previously characterized the past year as “the most horrendous time of their lives.” They stated: “Every day is a day of pain for us, even now, but as parents we still have to give the love and support our other children need as they are still trying to come to terms with losing their baby sister.” A subsequent hearing has been scheduled for 5 December.
