Dominic Taylor, a winner of a PDC Challenge Tour event in Wigan last year, has been suspended by the Darts Regulation Authority after failing a drugs test. The 26-year-old Taylor returned a positive test for a prohibited substance during a recent Players Championship event. Consequently, he has withdrawn from the Players Championship finals scheduled for Friday, where he was set to compete against former world champion Michael Smith. Nick Kenny will now take his place. The world number 80 is scheduled to appear at a disciplinary hearing; the specific date for this has yet to be confirmed. Taylor, a recipient of a Challenge Tour title in 2023, secured a two-year Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) tour card in January, having successfully advanced through Qualifying School. Last month, he advanced to the quarter-finals of a Players Championship event, where he was defeated by Gary Anderson.
