Storefronts in Newquay are scheduled for renovation, supported by a grant from the local council. The Newquay Business Improvement District (BID) has successfully obtained £9,500 from Cornwall Council, which will assist 13 businesses in upgrading the exteriors of their premises. A portion of these funds is also designated for establishing a storytelling trail, aiming to boost visitor numbers in the Trenance area, according to the organization. The grant, sourced from the council’s Town Delivery Fund, is intended to provide matching funds for shop enhancements, such as fresh paintwork and the installation of new canopies, the BID further stated. Claire Weiss, representing Atlantic View Cafe, expressed gratitude to the council for the financial support, remarking: “We believe it’s so important to keep Newquay’s high street and our business looking clean, modern and eye-catching.” Cornwall councillor Louis Gardner commented: “By enhancing storefronts, we create a vibrant, welcoming town that attracts more visitors, supports jobs and builds community pride.” He further added: “Together, we can ensure Newquay remains a dynamic hub for residents and tourists alike.”
