A dog that was stolen has been reunited with her owners following an eight-year period. Daisy, a one-year-old cocker spaniel, along with three other working gun dogs, was taken from garden kennels at her home in Mole Valley, Surrey, in 2016. Surrey Police were notified on Tuesday after an individual attempted to update Daisy’s microchip details. PC Laura Rowley, from the Mole Valley Safer Neighbourhood Team, remarked that there was “not a dry eye in the house” when the dog was reunited with her owners. She added: “She recognised them immediately and stuck to them like glue.” Officers determined that Daisy had been rehomed “in good faith” by new owners who were unaware of the original theft. Police reported that one of the other stolen dogs was killed after being hit by a car while attempting to escape. The two remaining dogs, Tilly, a black working cocker spaniel, and Storm, a patchy white Patterdale terrier, have not yet been found. Officers have urged anyone with information regarding their whereabouts to come forward.
