Police have confiscated more than 1,000 illegal fireworks, which are scheduled for destruction. The discovery of the cache occurred at a residence in Seacroft, Leeds, after law enforcement officials received reports concerning the illicit sale of explosives within the area. West Yorkshire Police indicated that the estimated value of the fireworks is at least £10,000. An investigation, being conducted under the leadership of the West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service, is currently in progress. This seizure marks the latest instance of police action resulting from public intelligence. Last week, authorities issued a warning that explosives found at a house in Wakefield could have led to a “major incident.” Additionally, in early October, three individuals were arrested following the discovery of thousands of fireworks in a garage located in Bradford. Insp Alastair Nicholls from the Leeds East Neighbourhood Policing Team, stated: “We know the illegal sale and potential anti social use of fireworks is a real concern for residents and want to thank all those who contact us with information.“There is a reason such items are only sold by legal retailers with safeguards on who can purchase them and when, and we will act on any report of them being sold illegally.” Post navigation Cannabis Cultivation Valued at £170,000 Dismantled in Sheffield Raid Sentences Issued to Two Men for Drug Supply Leading to Teenager’s Death
