American pop star Ariana Grande distributed Christmas gifts to children admitted to hospitals throughout Manchester, bringing a measure of holiday joy. The pop star has maintained her support for Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital since May 2017, a period following a suicide bombing incident that targeted attendees departing her concert in the city. Prior to this, Grande had contributed donations to the neo-natal intensive care units at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, North Manchester General Hospital, Wythenshawe Hospital, and Saint Mary’s Hospital. Subsequent to these recent contributions, the Manchester Foundation Trust Charity shared a message on X, stating: “Thank you Ariana Grande. We are so grateful to Ariana for thinking of our young patients this Christmas.” The charity confirmed that the presents were “being distributed to babies, children and teenagers” across Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, North Manchester General Hospital, Trafford General Hospital, and Wythenshawe Hospital. Grande has publicly discussed her challenges with post-traumatic stress disorder in the aftermath of the Manchester Arena attack on 22 May 2017, an incident that resulted in the deaths of 22 individuals.
