Bristol City head coach Liam Manning stated that striker Fally Mayulu is expected to be “important” for the club in the future, despite acknowledging that it has “taken him time” to adapt to the Championship. Mayulu has been an unused substitute in five of Bristol City’s past eight games. The 22-year-old Frenchman joined the team this summer from Austrian club Rapid Vienna. He has since made 11 league appearances, scoring two goals in his initial two matches. In his last eight games, Mayulu has played a total of just 29 minutes, being an unused substitute in five of those fixtures. Speaking to BBC Radio Bristol, Manning commented on the league’s demands, stating, “I think it’s a big jump up, the intensity of the league. You switch off for a second in the Championship, you’re talking two or three metres.” He added regarding Mayulu’s progress, “It’s taking a little bit of time. He’s massively training better now so he’s definitely heading in the right direction.” Manning also mentioned that the coaching staff has been focusing on the “psychological” aspect of the game with Mayulu. He elaborated on this, saying, “It’s thinking quicker, it’s seeing the pictures quicker, it’s having the composure under pressure. I know the technical stuff is in there.” Manning concluded by expressing his long-term view: “I know he won’t have the minutes he wants now but I know he’s going to be important for us in the future.” Post navigation Brisbane Heat Qualify for WBBL Knockouts Following Victory Against Stars Burnley Players Called Up for International Duty This Week
