An individual was saved by a lifeboat crew after spending three hours in the waters of the Humber estuary. Humber Rescue was dispatched at 02:37 GMT on Thursday, initiating a search operation alongside other lifeboats and the Coastguard helicopter. The man was located after personnel at the Humber Sea Terminal in North Killingholme reported hearing cries for help. He was subsequently extracted from the water and received treatment from emergency teams. The independent lifeboat service, which is based near the Humber Bridge, indicated that the 8°C water temperature typically results in a survival period of approximately 30 to 90 minutes. Coxswain Ian Bennett commented: “With water temperatures so low, every minute counted. This rescue is a testament to the skill, determination and teamwork of everyone involved.” Shortly after this incident, the crew was called to another event, marking their 109th call-out of the year to date.
