Charges have been brought against three men following their arrest for hunting a wild animal with a dog. The Rural Crime Team of Norfolk Police stated that a public report was received on Sunday, detailing three men observed hunting rabbits and deer using catapults and dogs in the Trowse area of Norfolk. Authorities confirmed the seizure of seven dogs, a vehicle, and catapults. Additionally, one of the men received a charge for employing a slingshot to capture, kill, or harm a deer. The police force communicated via Facebook, stating: “The use of catapult on wildlife is an increasing concern due to the potential suffering it causes and is being tackled nationally under Operation Lakeshot we will continue to take action where powers allow.” According to Norfolk Police, the individuals were apprehended on suspicion of hunting with dogs and subsequently transported to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre for interrogation. Two men, aged in their 40s, and one man, in his 30s, have since been granted bail and are scheduled to attend Norwich Magistrates’ Court on January 31.
