Maresca observes that his competitors, such as Manchester City, possess extensive experience, while Liverpool secured the title in the 2019-20 season, and Arsenal have been strong contenders in recent years. Chelsea, conversely, has not occupied such a competitive position for a considerable period. This context suggests a rationale for Maresca’s downplaying of title race discussions, given his very young squad and his apparent effort to alleviate pressure on them. Despite this, the team’s belief in their title chances could be maintained, a sentiment still observed among Arsenal supporters.
