A global manufacturing firm has commenced construction on a significant new facility in Worcester. MiTek, a provider of software, services, and automated solutions for the building industry, is establishing its Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) headquarters at Worcester Six Business Park. According to Worcestershire County Council, this initiative is anticipated to generate employment opportunities within the county and provide economic benefits to the local area. The council stated, “The relocation of their headquarters is a significant investment for MiTek and shows great confidence in Worcestershire as a business location.” James Morgan, managing director of MiTek’s EMEA operations, indicated that Worcester was the clear preference for the company’s new location. He explained, “We wanted to relocate to a place where there’s space for expansion in the future, with good transport links.” Morgan added, “It ticked all the boxes for what we were looking for… for the next 20 years.” Mr. Morgan mentioned that approximately 250 individuals would be employed at the 278,000 sq ft site. Some of these employees will transfer from MiTek’s existing UK base in Dudley. However, he also noted that additional new positions are likely to be created. Mr. Morgan affirmed, “This [will be] our home for decades now so inevitably this is going to generate jobs in the Worcestershire area.” This new construction marks the 12th development to be undertaken at the business park, which is situated near junction six of the M5 motorway. Adam Kent, the county council’s cabinet member for economy and skills, commented that the development underscores the authority’s dedication to fostering growth in the local economy. Kent remarked, “I think you can see by the growth of this site, and the number of companies here, this is an investment for the residents of Worcestershire.” Completion of the work on the new MiTek site is projected for late 2025.
