Firefighters addressed a blaze at a primary school that originated in a toilet and subsequently extended to the roof. Seven fire crews were called to Otley Primary School, located on Chapel Road, near Ipswich, at 15:37 GMT. The Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that no injuries were reported. Firefighters employed hose reel jets to manage the spread of the flames, with appliances from Ipswich East, Princes Street, Woodbridge, and Framlingham present at the scene. In a statement, the emergency service indicated that the fire was extinguished by 17:55. Two appliances stayed on site following the incident, and an investigation into the fire’s cause is scheduled to commence on Tuesday morning, when the school will remain closed.
