A recently constructed housing development has been subject to a series of thefts, with 22 boilers, several ovens, and fridge freezers reported missing. Gloucestershire Police stated that the residential project, located on Winnycroft Lane in Matson, was victimized by burglars on three separate occasions: the evening of December 4, the morning of December 5, and again on December 16. Gloucestershire Police issued a statement, noting: “Officers have conducted forensic and CCTV enquiries in the area and believe three people were involved in the burglaries.” The police also urged: “Anyone who witnessed suspicious activity in the area or who has been offered boilers or kitchen appliances for sale is asked to make contact with police.” Beyond the boilers, the stolen items included two fridge freezers, two ovens, two hobs, two dishwashers, and two washing machines. The 85-unit housing complex, situated four miles outside Gloucester, currently has no residents. Initial occupants are anticipated to take up residence in 2025. Copyright 2024 BBC.
