Queens Park Rangers captain Steve Cook is expected to be sidelined for a minimum of 10 days due to a foot injury. Rangers manager Marti Cifuentes had previously stated he would not “play doctor” by predicting the severity of the centre-back’s injury. The 33-year-old sustained the injury on Saturday during his team’s 2-1 comeback victory against Preston North End at Loftus Road. The club confirmed in an update that a scan revealed Cook suffered a plantar fascia injury, which does not require surgery. Cook’s condition will be re-evaluated in 10 days, the club added, though the precise duration of his absence is currently unknown.
