Custodial sentences have been imposed on three individuals for their participation in a drug trafficking network described as “corrosive,” operating between Somerset and Manchester. On February 22, law enforcement officials confiscated heroin and crack cocaine with an estimated street value of £1,200 from a hotel room located in Bridgwater. Proceedings at Bristol Crown Court revealed that Curtis Coburn, aged 25, Karl Richardson, aged 36, and Zack Wildman, aged 27, all residents of Greater Manchester, were implicated in the distribution of Class A drugs. A 17-year-old male, who also confessed to supplying Class A drugs, is scheduled to receive his sentence at a youth court at a subsequent time. Avon and Somerset Police initiated their involvement after receiving intelligence indicating that Coburn, who was sought by authorities in his home region, was residing at a hotel in Bridgwater. The subsequent search of the hotel room led to the discovery of cocaine and heroin. The following day, Wildman was apprehended at a residence in Greater Manchester, alongside Richardson and a 17-year-old individual whose identity cannot be disclosed due to legal restrictions concerning minors. A subsequent police inquiry revealed a mobile phone that was being utilized as an integral component of their drug operation. Det Sgt Stuart Hassell commented, “The sentences given are a reflection of how seriously these offences are treated by the courts.” He added, “Three men are now behind bars for their role in this corrosive and illegal enterprise and we’ve stopped a quantity of dangerous drugs from causing misery in our communities.” Coburn received a seven-year custodial sentence following his conviction for involvement in the supply of Class A drugs and possession of a controlled Class B drug. Richardson was incarcerated for two years and three months after pleading guilty to being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs. Wildman also confessed to involvement in the supply of Class A drugs and was given a three-year sentence.
