Wilfried Kanga has not started a league game for Cardiff since 21 September. Cardiff City’s interim manager, Omer Riza, has stated his expectation for striker Wilfried Kanga to demonstrate improved performance, saying he “needs to see more” from the player. The 26-year-old player was omitted from Cardiff’s Championship squad for the first time on Wednesday evening, with the young player Michael Reindorf occupying a place on the substitutes’ bench. Kanga, who joined on loan from Hertha Berlin during the summer transfer window, has yet to score for the Bluebirds across 13 appearances this season. “I need to see more,” Riza stated. He elaborated, “He has failed to score and create and it has been tough for him, but at the same time when you come on you have to make an impact.” Riza added, “I know it is difficult, but there has to be hard work and endeavour.” He concluded, “I’m sure he will come back with the same positive attitude and character he has to get back in the squad.” On Wednesday night, Cardiff suffered a 2-0 home defeat against Queen’s Park Rangers, a result that further reduced their distance from the Championship’s relegation zone. QPR’s striker, Zan Celar, who had also been without a goal all season, scored a remarkable strike in the first half, followed by a skillful chip in the 91st minute that secured the victory. Riza further commented, “Wilfried started the first five or six games, and I think there is an element that players are frustrated to have not played in the system we play now.” He concluded this point by stating, “There have been conversations about trying improve. Today was purely about giving someone else [Reindorf] an opportunity.” Post navigation Ipswich Manager Expresses Frustration Over Referee Decisions Coach Nelson Jardim Vows Support for Injured Co-Captain Wildig
