A man sustained burns following reports of an explosion at a residence in Derbyshire, according to firefighters. Emergency crews from Ilkeston, Alfreton, and Eastwood in Nottinghamshire responded to a property on Park Street, Heanor, after 15:46 GMT on Thursday. Firefighters stated the incident was initially reported as an explosion and discovered the house to be “well alight,” prompting a request for additional support from Ripley station. They confirmed the home’s occupier suffered some burns during the blaze, and Derbyshire Police has initiated an investigation. Responding teams noted that parked vehicles made their approach “tricky,” but firefighters, utilizing breathing apparatus, successfully navigated through and searched the property to extinguish the fire.
