Josh Sheehan, a midfielder for Wales who was named in the PFA Team of the Season for 2023/24, has finalized a new contract to remain with Bolton Wanderers until the summer of 2027. His current agreement was scheduled to expire at the conclusion of the present season, but he has now committed to an additional two years at the Toughsheet Community Stadium. The 29-year-old player joined Bolton from Newport County in the summer of 2021 and has since accumulated 124 appearances and scored 12 goals. Sheehan has earned 10 caps for Wales and started in both of the recent Nations League matches, playing at home against Iceland and away against Turkey. He has been an integral part of the Bolton squad that reached the League One play-offs in each of the last two seasons and triumphed in the EFL Trophy in 2023. “The Whites” are currently positioned 11th in the league standings. However, the midfielder, who has been a starter in 13 of Bolton’s 14 league fixtures, expressed confidence in achieving success with Ian Evatt’s team. He conveyed to the club’s external website, “I want to achieve things with this football club and this allows me an even greater opportunity to do that.” He further stated, “I believe this season can still be a successful one and hopefully that will only be the start of more good times for myself and the club.”
