A 55-year-old woman has been charged with the murder of another woman in north London. The Metropolitan Police received an abandoned call from an address in Westerham Avenue, Edmonton, Enfield, shortly after 17:00 GMT on Thursday. Upon attending the location, officers discovered Efthyia Constantinou, 62, suffering from stab injuries. Zaneta Peto, also known as Maria Peto, of Charles Street, Enfield, was arrested on Friday and subsequently charged with murder. The Met reported that Ms Constantinou was pronounced dead at the scene, despite the efforts of officers. The force indicated that Ms Peto was known to the victim and confirmed that no other individuals are being sought in connection with the incident. Det Ch Insp Sarah Lee, from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command, stated: “Our sincerest condolences are offered to Efthyia’s family, friends and the wider community who are so deeply saddened by her death.” She added that Efthyia’s family continues to be supported by specially trained officers.
