A parking payment device, taken from a National Trust vehicle park, is set to be substituted. The theft, which occurred in July, left an empty space at the Tinkley car park of Woodchester Mansion, now marked by a sign where the apparatus previously stood. The National Trust, proprietor of Woodchester Park, issued an appeal for anyone with information regarding the incident to get in touch with Gloucestershire Police. Until the new machine is installed, visitors to the location have been directed to make parking payments at the on-site cafe or through a member of the welcome staff. While Woodchester Mansion itself is currently closed for the remainder of the year, its adjacent parkland, Woodchester Park, remains accessible to the public. A representative for the National Trust confirmed that the theft took place on 21 July, and law enforcement authorities were notified. They stated, “The machine is due to be replaced shortly.” The spokesperson added, “The National Trust is a conservation charity dependent on the income it receives, including from car parks, to support vital conservation work and improve access in the area.” Gloucestershire Police has been contacted for a statement.
