Law enforcement officials are requesting public assistance following an alleged arson incident at an East Sussex football club, which resulted in approximately £35,000 worth of damage. Several children required assistance to evacuate to safety when the blaze erupted at Hailsham Town Football Club on Tuesday. Sussex Police suspect that conifers situated close to the stand were intentionally ignited around 19:00 GMT. The club had previously expressed gratitude to youth team coaches for guiding the children to safety. PC Luke Ceschin stated: “We believe a number of people were in the area at the time the fire started and it is fortunate that no-one was injured.” He urged individuals possessing any information or visual recordings of the fire, such as dash cam footage, to get in touch with the police force.
