The trial for a man accused of the murder of a young mother in an e-bike collision in Derbyshire is scheduled for the coming year. Alana Armstrong, aged 25, was riding as a passenger on an e-bike when it collided with a 4×4 vehicle in Pleasley on the evening of November 26. Keaton Muldoon faces charges of her murder, the attempted murder of the e-bike’s rider, Jordan Newton-Kay, and driving while disqualified. The 23-year-old individual, residing at Tuckers Lane in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, made an appearance at Derby Crown Court remotely via video-link on Monday, where he only confirmed his identity. Judge Shaun Smith KC established May 19 as the trial date, which is anticipated to span a duration of two to three weeks. Ms Armstrong, who was a mother to a six-year-old son, passed away at the location of the incident in Batley Lane. According to police, Mr Newton-Kay was transported to a hospital where he underwent an amputation of one of his legs below the knee. Crimestoppers has offered a reward of £20,000 for crucial information pertaining to Ms Armstrong’s fatality. Derbyshire Police issued an appeal on Friday for the individual who left a note, citing “poor parking,” on a Land Rover Discovery in Mansfield to present themselves. Authorities stated that the note was placed on the vehicle, which was parked in the Jacksons Park area, during the night of November 26 extending into the subsequent day.
