Following today’s triumph, Newcastle United’s goal-scorer, Alexander Isak, shared his thoughts with TNT Sports, remarking that the victory “was massive, against a big team. It means a lot to the fans that we can win this game.” Addressing his achievement of 12 goals in his last 12 home league matches at St James’ Park, Isak stated: “It’s special of course, our fans are amazing every game, win or lose. So it gives you an extra boost. I have been successful here so hopefully I can keep going.” Regarding his goal and the assist provided by Anthony Gordon, he commented: “The cross was amazing, I just had to jump and put my head on the ball, so credit to him.” Discussing the importance of converting his opportunity, Isak noted: “Important. Arsenal have a strong defence and so it is a difficult task but I’m happy we could score today and keep a clean sheet.” Furthermore, on the significance of Newcastle leveraging this win as a catalyst for future performance, he added: “We’ve had a bad spell but hopefully this win can be a bit of an icebreaker for us.”
