The bollards installed on Academy Street in Inverness, which were intended to enhance pedestrian access during the pandemic, are slated for removal next week. The Highland Council had previously planned to implement permanent modifications to the road’s configuration. However, the local authority was compelled to abandon this initiative after the Court of Session determined that the consultation process had been insufficient. Officials have indicated that the work to dismantle the bollards on Academy Street will commence on Monday and is anticipated to be finished by the close of the week.
