Volunteers at an RSPCA charity shop have expressed dismay after their premises were subjected to a break-in, according to manager Patrick Vasey. Thieves made off with an iPad, along with various items of stock including digital cameras and DVD box sets, from one of the RSPCA stores situated in Fountain Square, Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent. Mr. Vasey indicated that the burglary has severely depleted the store’s inventory, thereby reducing the potential funds that can be raised to support animals. This incident follows an earlier act of vandalism this year, which the charity reported incurred an £1,800 cost for repairs to the store’s windows. Vasey commented on the impact, stating, “It’s knocked the morale of us all in the shop – but we pick ourselves up, we clean up, we tidy up and hopefully we can re-stock with more donated items from our wonderful supporters in the area.” Police confirmed they were alerted just before 10:30 GMT on Wednesday to reports of two separate burglaries at the RSPCA’s Movies, Music and More charity shop. Authorities reported that the initial break-in occurred at 01:50 GMT, when a male suspect took an iPad, a camera, and several other articles. A second incident followed at 03:50 GMT, involving three individuals who absconded with additional merchandise. Law enforcement estimated the total value of stolen goods to be approximately £600. Investigations are currently underway, police stated, and members of the public with any relevant information are encouraged to reach out to Staffordshire Police.
