A man has died after a Jaguar veered out of control and mounted the pavement while attempting to overtake another vehicle, police have confirmed. Greater Manchester Police reported that the pedestrian, aged in his 40s, was struck at approximately 18:45 GMT on Monday on Chew Moor Lane in Bolton, and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, a man in his 20s, has been apprehended on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. Detectives are encouraging anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward. A spokeswoman for the force elaborated that the vehicle involved, a blue Jaguar XE, is believed to have been overtaking another car when it lost control and veered onto the pavement. She added that the pedestrian passed away despite the efforts of emergency services. Police are requesting that anyone with footage of the collision, including dashcam, phone, or doorbell recordings, contact them.
