Following their League Cup semi-final defeat, Aberdeen recovered to surpass Celtic and claim the top position in the Scottish Premiership, thanks to an impressive second-half performance at home against Dundee. Ante Palaversa’s skillful goal opened the scoring at a sold-out Pittodrie. Within four minutes, Topi Keskinen doubled their lead by striking the ball past Jon McCracken, through his legs. Dundee mounted a brief comeback when Simon Murray, who had a first-half penalty saved, headed the ball into the far corner. However, their resurgence was halted moments later when Vicente Besuijen, having been on the pitch for only 42 seconds, converted a Kevin Nisbet through ball. Kevin Nisbet then secured a late fourth goal himself, as his deflected shot eluded Jon McCracken. Jimmy Thelin’s side, who experienced their first defeat of the campaign last weekend with a 6-0 loss to Celtic in the League Cup semi-finals, displayed their characteristic form as they extended their unbeaten league run to 11 matches. Dundee, the last team to defeat Aberdeen in the league at Dens Park back in March, fell to seventh place as their streak without a victory at Pittodrie now spans 16 games. Dundee fans, whether present at Pittodrie or following from home, are invited to share their opinions on the match.
