Autonomous Shuttle Demonstrations Scheduled for Kent

An autonomous shuttle is scheduled to provide demonstration rides, an event organisers describe as a first for Kent. The Lift Shuttle, produced by Ohmio, will conduct these demonstrations on Friday at the Turner Contemporary art gallery in Margate, from 12:00 to 13:30 GMT. This vehicle, designed without a driver’s seat or steering wheel, is slated for deployment on the roads of Milton Keynes as part of a government-supported initiative. An Ohmio spokesperson stated that, “if successful, the the Milton Keynes pilot could be used as a blueprint for nationwide deployment.” The shuttle is set to return to the art gallery for a subsequent event, the Self-Driving Industry Awards.
