Residential and commercial properties in parts of Doncaster experienced a water supply interruption for several hours on Wednesday, following an issue with electrical equipment at a treatment works. The DN2, DN3, DN4, and DN5 areas of the city were all impacted throughout the afternoon and into the evening. According to Yorkshire Water, services were reinstated around 22:00 GMT. In an update shared on X, the utility firm stated: “It may take a few hours to get back to normal, your water might look cloudy or discoloured.” A spokesperson for the company apologized for the disruption and advised that any initial discolouration of the water could be resolved by running the tap for a few minutes. The spokesperson added: “We understand how inconvenient supply interruptions can be and we’d like to thank our customers for their patience.” They further indicated that the company had been working on site to restore power and supply to customers “as quickly as possible.” Separately, two pubs, the Eden Arms and the Cumberland, announced on Facebook that they had been compelled to close for the evening due to the interruption in water service.
