A fire erupted within multiple warehouse facilities in Bristol, containing seven tonnes of scrap metal. Avon Fire and Rescue Service reported receiving calls about the incident in the city’s St Werbugh’s area at approximately 14:20 GMT on Saturday. The service confirmed that five teams were deployed to the location on New Gatton Road, where firefighters utilized breathing apparatus and water jets to combat the flames. Individuals residing in proximate buildings and motorists traversing the area have been advised to close their windows due to the smoke. No road closures are currently in effect, and no injuries have been reported, the service added.
