Firefighters on the Isle of Wight were engaged throughout the night combating a fire that broke out at a two-storey house. The blaze originated at the property located on Monkton Street in Ryde, around 19:15 GMT on Sunday. Teams from various parts of the island, supported by several water carriers, were deployed to the fire, which resulted in the roof’s collapse. The fire service indicated that police officers are maintaining a presence at the building, pending the commencement of a joint investigation.
