A non-league football club, which has been subjected to thefts, attributes its continued operation solely to “due to the donations, support and passion” provided by its volunteers. Guisborough Town, located near Middlesbrough, has incurred losses exceeding £10,000, encompassing both stolen property and expenses for repairs, following two separate break-ins that occurred recently. Items pilfered during the burglaries in September and November included a charity collection bucket, a cash register, two televisions, and numerous bottles of spirits. According to Director Chris Wood, the club would have been compelled to cancel scheduled weddings and certain festive events “but for the tireless efforts” of its supporters. A previous burglary two years prior necessitated a crowdfunding campaign to help keep the club afloat. Reflecting on the September burglary, he stated: “We were at a football event five miles away when I got the call. “It was 9am on a Sunday and seeing the damage was just heart-breaking.”To think people are comfortable breaking in during broad day light, not even when its dark at night, makes you feel very vulnerable.” Law enforcement officials have brought charges against a 32-year-old man in connection with six burglaries, which occurred at sites such as Guisborough Town, the Salvation Army in Eston, Burger Up in Redcar, and another property in Guisborough. Mr Wood, aged 27, commented: “We wouldn’t have survived this without the donations, support and passion of our volunteers. “But we’ve worked hard to recover and are putting new security measures in place.” Post navigation East London Stabbing Victim Feels No Closer to Justice Spiritual Leader Pleads Guilty to 1980s Sexual Offenses
