Regis Le Bris, the manager of Sunderland, has confirmed that defender Dan Ballard will be absent from the team’s upcoming December matches because of an injury. The 25-year-old player sustained the injury on Saturday, leaving the field during the Black Cats’ win against Norwich City following an on-field collision with Borja Sainz, Norwich’s leading scorer. Sunderland is set to compete against Blackburn Rovers and Stoke City prior to the conclusion of the year. Le Bris stated, “Dan will be unavailable.” He added, “It’s difficult to say how long he will be out exactly, probably two weeks at least. Maybe a little bit more.” Ballard transferred to Sunderland from Arsenal in 2022 and has participated in 12 matches this current season.
