Aurigny, the airline serving Guernsey, has incorporated additional flights into its timetable to address delays experienced by passengers returning home in the aftermath of Storm Darragh. These supplementary journeys were introduced by Aurigny for Monday and Tuesday, following the cancellation of all flights for two consecutive days due to unfavorable weather conditions. The airline communicated that certain passengers might experience a wait “a little longer to get where they need to be,” and requested public understanding given the “extraordinary circumstances.” Nico Bezuidenhout, the chief executive, extended gratitude “to the whole Aurigny team for all their hard work over the weekend.” Aurigny stated its intention to incorporate the maximum possible number of extra flights into its schedule, specifically mentioning for Monday, one additional service to and from London Gatwick Airport and one further service to and from Southampton Airport. Furthermore, the company announced the inclusion of two extra flights connecting to and from Gatwick, and one additional flight to and from Manchester Airport. To facilitate the supplementary flights scheduled for Monday, Aurigny indicated it had secured assistance from Avanti Air. For Tuesday, all additional flights would be operated using Aurigny’s own aircraft, according to the company.
