A body has been located during the search efforts for a skier who went missing in the Cairngorms region. Sam Burns, aged 40, had made contact with friends prior to his solo skiing excursion on Friday. He subsequently failed to return to his van, which was parked at the mountain car park in Aviemore. His itinerary included plans to ski either Y Gulley or Diagonal Gulley, originating from the Cairngorm Plateau. Police initiated a search operation after Mr. Burns was reported missing and confirmed the discovery of a body on Saturday. Officers stated that formal identification procedures are still pending, but Mr. Burns’ family has been notified. Authorities have indicated that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident, and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
