St Helier Street Traffic Direction to Reverse in Jersey

A section of a St Helier street is slated to have its traffic flow altered as part of ongoing initiatives to enhance accessibility. Jersey’s government announced that Dumaresq Street, specifically the segment between Hue Street south and Charing Cross, will become one-way, flowing towards Charing Cross, thereby reversing its current direction, starting Monday. The government indicated that this adjustment is designed to improve access to the Premier Inn at Charing Cross and is part of a “broader initiative by infrastructure and environment to improve accessibility for residents and visitors alike.” Constable Andy Jehan, the infrastructure minister, stated: “We are committed to implementing measures that enhance accessibility across the island in response to feedback from visitors.”
