Thousands of onlookers gathered on the streets of the City of London to witness the 2024 Lord Mayor’s Show procession. The historic parade, which originated in the 13th Century, took place on Saturday, featuring approximately 7,000 participants, 250 horses, and 150 floats, traveling from Guildhall to the Royal Courts of Justice. This procession marks the initial public engagement for Alastair King, the newly appointed Lord Mayor of the City of London. Mr King, who is the 696th Lord Mayor, is required to journey to the Royal Courts to pledge allegiance to the Crown before officially commencing his duties.
