A primary school has been shut for the day after a fire broke out on Sunday night. Around 40 firefighters were called to the blaze in an outbuilding of St Michael’s Primary School in Stoke Gifford, near Bristol, at 21:25 GMT. Fire crews tackled the blaze for approximately 15 minutes before it was extinguished, according to the Avon Fire and Rescue Service. There were no reported injuries. Matthew Crovetto, Duty manager for the fire service, indicated that the school suffered smoke damage and would stay closed on Monday as fire crews carry out their investigations. It is expected to reopen on Tuesday.
