Blackburn Rovers head coach John Eustace specifically highlighted Tyrhys Dolan for commendation after the team’s 1-0 triumph over Leeds United last weekend. Dolan has been in the starting lineup for 14 of Rovers’ 16 Championship fixtures this season. Dolan earned the player-of-the-match award for his crucial contribution, as his skillful jinking run into the penalty area resulted in him being fouled by Leeds midfielder Ao Tanaka, leading to a penalty. Todd Cantwell subsequently converted this penalty, which proved to be the decisive moment of the game. “He was outstanding,” Eustace informed BBC Radio Lancashire. “Ty’s a fantastic young player, he’s got a lot of games under his belt.” “There’s a lot of pressure on him to perform and when we were playing him in that number 10 role, coming in for Sammie [Szmodics], that might have been playing on his mind a little bit.” “But the way that he’s took to his task the last couple of games has been outstanding.” Dolan, aged 22, has started 14 of Rovers’ 16 Championship matches, scoring twice and providing two assists. Eustace has expressed his satisfaction with the standard of Dolan’s performances throughout the current campaign. “His work-rate and his endeavour, quality as well, is there for everyone to see and I’m really pleased for Ty,” he further stated.
