Nigel Reo-Coker, a former West Ham midfielder, has stated that Tottenham’s squad contains “no natural leaders.” This assessment follows Spurs’ recent disappointing home loss to rivals Chelsea, where they squandered a 2-0 early lead. Manager Ange Postecoglou faced criticism for his failure to adjust the team’s gameplan after securing the advantage. Speaking on the Football Daily podcast, Reo-Coker commented, “I think it’s very serious and I think Ange Postecoglou knows the seriousness of the situation he’s in as well. But, he’s going to be tough, backing himself and very determined to stick to his principles and beliefs.” Reo-Coker further expressed his view, stating, “For me you can’t be at home, 2-0 up against one of the sides you’re meant to be competing against and fold like that.” He acknowledged that “Injuries are a part of football” but raised questions about the fitness of Christian Romero and Micky Van de Ven to start, and whether the Premier League might be “a bit too tough” for Radu Dragusin. He concluded, “When you look at it overall, the players don’t look like they have the belief they can go on and close games out and get the job done. There are no natural born leaders to lead this team.” He also criticized the managerial aspect, asserting that “It hasn’t been good enough.” Reo-Coker elaborated that a manager “has to read games” and that when Tottenham achieved a 2-0 lead, Postecoglou should have instructed them “to be more compact,” as “That instruction comes from the manager.” He concluded that “The leadership from the management standpoint has also not been good enough.” Post navigation Guy Pepper Embraces Competition at Bath Na-Rin An Takes Early Lead in LPGA Season Finale for $4 Million Prize
